Bridal handbag : Four beautiful bags to see you down the aisle

Bridal handbag : Four beautiful bags to see you down the aisle

Getting married? Congratulations. But are you planning to let your bag obsession follow you down the aisle? If so you're unusual, as for most brides-to-be, handbags come pretty low down the list of priorities when there are dresses to be bought, venues to be booked and estranged family members to contend with. But you'll feel naked without a bag on the big day, and the odds are your day-to-day handbag won't quite cut it at your fairytale wedding.

Our 'smug married' sister site Bridalwave has picked out some beautiful bags to suit all budgets, colours and styles. Follow the jump for details!
Clockwise, from top left:

1. Marc Jacobs small zip purse with heart cutouts

If you've still got enough left in your budget for Marc Jacobs accessories by the time it comes to handbag shopping (or think you can wangle an early wedding present!), I don't think anything could be more suitable than this stylish, cut-out hearts handbag. The soft leather applique hearts are just adorable, and since it would make an excellent day bag, you could be carrying around this souvenir of your wedding day for years to come.

£510 from Browns

2. Amore clutch bag

This is a good, all-purpose wedding bag (it has a chain tucked away if you get bored of holding it while you're trying to sip champagne!) that's great value, too. Its simple design would work well with either a traditional or more contemporary-style gown, and the little heart decoration gives it that crucial romantic touch.

3. Hermione flower broche clutch

This is a sweet, sumptuously silky clutch with a floral motif that would be perfect for a summer wedding. The taupe shade could provide contrast to a paler gown, particularly if it's decorated with darker embellishments.

£22 at Accessorize

4. Margot clutch

This is a bag fit for a princess, and would work a treat with a more classically-cut dress. I love the embellishment around the clasps (which, when seen up close, resemble scrummy chocolate Faberge eggs!), and the ivory satin is of a really good quality. Another great value option.

£39.99 at Olivier Laudus
